First, we had an assembly to celebrate Earth Day and to celebrate the fact that HES won an award for being a "Green School." We were one of three chosen in Kansas because of the efforts the school has been making to go green (compost worms, butterfly garden, recycling). The fourth graders did a rap about going green.
Before lunch, the students worked on their final projects after reading Mr. Popper's Penguins. A picture of those will be coming later...
After lunch we watched a movie to celebrate the end of state assessments! I am so proud of each student and how hard he or she worked.
After the movie, it was time for our spring party. It was also Zach's birthday so there were plenty of delicious treats to go around---Butter Beer (from Harry Potter- a concoction of caramel, cream soda, and whipped topping), cookies, cheese and crackers, soda, and candy.
