After practicing a bit, students met with each other to score some more examples. They had to give each student a score as well as defend why they were giving it a score of 1,2, or 3 (I told them it was like they were at Parent-Teacher conferences!).
It was amazing that students were tough graders and really analyzed and thought about why a student should receive a particular score.
