Recommending Books

Last week we spent some time talking about recommending books to others--how we often read books that others recommend to us before we read anything else.  We trust others' opinions.  In the Book Nook there is a bulletin board that the students and I can use to recommend books to others.  It is a way to let others know about the books we have read as well as a way for us to find a new book that we normally would not read.

Before
We all read different picture books so that we could have practice reading a book and filling out a recommendation form.  (Don't be fooled- 4th graders still love reading picture books!)

Some read one book, while others read several.

After.
They will even listen to your opinion. If you recommend a book to them, them will probably give it a chance!  What's an old favorite from when you were a kid that your child would enjoy reading now?
