We did our first practice round of Book Clubs in November. After a few days of reading together and having fantastic conversations about Roald Dahl's Fantastic Mr. Fox, the students split up into groups to finish their reading.
We discussed the importance and fun of reading books with friends and having the chance to talk about parts that confused us or parts that we loved (especially the part that says, "Farmer Bean delicately picked his nose..."). We discussed how adults have their own book clubs and they use them to understand texts more and enjoy books more. When people share their thoughts, we learn more and think more!
