For a final project after reading Mr. Popper's Penguins, the students made Facebook profiles for Mr. or Mrs. Popper. While reading they kept track of possible "status updates" and after we finished the book they created a fake Facebook profile for their character. They included status updates, friends (such as the penguins, Admiral Drake, and Mr. Greenbaum), and biographical information.
A great way to summarize a book that the kids were really into!
