I think it's worked.
My evidence?
Asking kids multiple times to stop reading.
So that they can get to lunch or wheel.
So that they can learn math.
It's a good problem to have.
My latest purchases are mostly graphic novels that are more fitting for boys (with lots of boys in the class I have been challenged to find different types of texts this year).
And finally, more evidence. The lists below are books that are on reserve in the class. Highlighted names are the students whom are interested in reading the books. I should have a more "techy" system, but this seems to work. The biggest problem we have is that students end up with a huge stack of books on their desks. A good problem to have, again.
