Apologies

So, I did not realize it has been nearly 3 weeks since I've updated our blog! It is apparent the holidays have come and things are a bit busier than normal. Here's a brief run-down of the last few weeks.

Students have been working on multiplication in math. They began by multiplying large numbers that ended in zero. Below, students work in pairs to figure out how many pounds of food different groups of people eat (people in Hesston, HES students, students in our class, etc).

In Science, we have been working on metric measurement (length/width, weight, liquid volume, and temperature).

Below, students used balances and gram pieces to measure the weight of various objects.

Continuing science, we moved on to studying liquid volume/measurement using milliliters and liters. In this experiment, students used syringes and graduated cylinders to find out if there are 355 milliliters of soda in a soda can or if the can can hold 355 milliliters. We found out there are 355 milliliters in a can- the can could hold more!
