Reader's Response Journal

This afternoon the students worked together to practice writing their first letter to me. Each week the students will write letters about the book they are reading. Then I write a letter back to them, telling them about what I'm reading as well as asking questions about the book that they are reading. This is a way for your child and me to discuss good (or bad) books and what they are thinking while they are reading. And, I learn so much about the kids!

They practiced with a partner after reading a picture book (however, usually the kids will be writing about the chapter/RC book they are reading).

And, if you look closely, you can probably tell that they are still sweaty from recess!

Zach and Rylie write a letter about the book "More Pies" by Robert Munsch.

Parker and Lauren read another Robert Munsch book.

Dawson and Addi read "The Princess and the Pizza"

G.J. and Hunter get ready to write about "Pigsty"

Kasi and Brendan read "When Charlie McButton Lost Power."

Aaron and Luke read "Tacky the Penguin"

Elizabeth and Carson read "Goldilocks Returns"
