Text Mapping

This week we are working on text features--things that authors use when they write non-fiction texts. Text features include headings, titles, captions, bold and italic words, and diagrams. Students worked in partners and laid out a non-fiction text that I had copied. Then, they worked to label (or "map") all of the different text features they could find in their text.
